MORE ABOUT ELLEN

<< previous

Ellen is best known for her leadership and unflagging dedication. She has championed numerous election monitoring efforts in Broward County, including acting as Broward coordinator for both VerifiedVoting.org during the Nov. 2004 Election and Pollworkersfordemocracy.org in 2006.

Ellen believes that citizen ownership of our elections is essential for a transparent, participatory democracy. For years she has fought for a Citizen Advisory Board to aid in administering the election process.

As your Supervisor of Elections, Ellen will continue her history of pro-active leadership. She will support manual audits of your elections before certification and will pursue innovative voting methods that ensure a consensus on election accuracy, pilot programs for Hand Counted Paper Ballots, Instant Runoff Voting, and Open Source Voting alternatives. Ellen will refuse to certify any election that cannot be proven to be accurate.

After years of participation in workshops and seminars across the country and lobbying Congress for Paper Ballot Legislation, Ellen is nationally renown as an election reform leader representing both Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

“In my fight for a paper trail for Florida voters, Ellen testified about her experiences in Broward County and some of the problems that have plagued South Florida elections. Ellen has devoted herself to educating people about ways to improve the integrity of our voting systems.”
